Basic comparisons with 没有

In Chinese, there is another way to make comparisons. You can use 没有(méiyǒu) to express that something is "not as" as something else. As well as with  (bǐ), you can also use 没有 (méiyǒu) to make basic comparisons. You could think of 没有 (méiyǒu) as the opposite of 比 (bǐ) - it works in the same way, but rather than expressing "more... than..." it expresses "not as... as...". The structure is Noun 1 + 没有 + Noun 2 + Adjective. For example,

  • 小李没有小王大。Little Li is not as old as Little Wang.
  • You can also say: 小王没有小李小。Little Wang is not as young as Little Li.
In this structure, the noun that's placed first is less"adjective" than the second noun (hence 没有 (méiyǒu) being like 比 (bǐ) in reverse). So in the sentence:

  •  小王比小李大。

Please write sentences by using the words given:

  1. 我  他   酷  没有  (He is not cool as me.)
  2. 上海   北京    冷    没有 (Shanghai is not as cold as Beijing.)
  3. 布法罗的冬天    上海的冬天  冷    没有  (The winter in Shanghai is not as cold as the winter in Buffalo. )
  4. 飞机    火车    快    没有(Train is not as fast airplane.)

  9. 他写的汉字   我写的汉字   好看   没有  (The characters he wrote are not as nice as those I write.)
Please use 比 structure to restate the sentences you wrote above.
