和 (hé) is the most common way to express "and" in Chinese but it can only be used to link nouns. You can use it to list nouns, whether two of them or more, 和 (hé) can be used to joint them. Verbs (or whole sentences) should not be linked with 和 (hé): Noun 1 + 和 + Noun 2. For example,
- 我和她是好朋友。She and I are good friends.
- 我喜欢苹果,葡萄,和香蕉。I like apple, grape, and banana.
还有 (háiyǒu) is used to express "in addition..." or "and also...". It is introducing new information to the topic the speaker is talking about, as an afterthought. We can also use 还有 to start completely new sentence or clause:
verb phrase 1 + 还有 + verb phrase 2.
