Brief Action: Verb + 一下儿 (yīxiàr)

一下 (yīxià) is usually used as a verb ending to express a brief action. Sometimes 一下 (yīxià) can soften the tone when you convey a request or suggestion: Subject + Verb + 一 + Object. Adding 一下 (yīxià) after verbs makes the Chinese feel more natural. For example,
  • 请等一下。Please wait for a little bit. (You get the feeling that it shouldn't be a long wait.)
  • 请您看一下。Please take a look. (It should be a quick look.)
Please change the following sentences by using Verb + 一下structure.
1. 您听这首歌。
2. 您试这道菜。
3. 您读这个字。
4. 我不明白,您可以说为什么吗?
5. 这儿有些热,您开窗户吧。
Please translate the following sentences:
1. I have to think a little bit.
2. Could you please write down this character a little bit?
